Austin's First NFL Game

Michael and Austin went to the Packer Game Sunday. It was somewhat last minute....as in Michael got the tickets to go meet clients that week. They lost to Houston 24-21 as I'm sure everyone knows.
Their seats were awsome, I opted not to go as those who know me I don't deal with the cold well. Austin said it was really cold, but the worst part was the long drive home.

We survived our 1st 5K

Well mother nature didn't disappoint, we got 2-3 inches of snow Friday night. We had a great time it was something I think we all want to do again. I'm still sore but it was worth it.

Austin did awsome!! He finished in 29minutes, mind you he is in football and track but a sprinter not a distance runner. He thinks after doing it once he could have cut another minute or two. Our friend Steve and Michael's boss Fred kept pace with Austin most of the race and finished in 30 and 31 minutes.

Michael was definately the super star of the day. After just 11 weeks of training he finished in 32 minutes!!!

Our friends Drew and Lisa ran as a couple thru the whole race and finished in 36 minutes.

I opted for a brisk walk method and finished in 45 minutes = little fast than 4 miles an hour. I can live with it, just makes me anxious to get back to the gym tomorrow.
And I think we are hooked now, we're looking for our next family event to attend.

Those crazy people that run when it's 10 below zero

So last Thursday morning before we went to Gramma's house and over-ate exceptionally good Thanksgiving dinner- Michael, Taylor & I participated in the Kenosha Mayor's Turkey Day Run. Michael and Taylor ran the whole thing with our good friends Drew and Lisa. They all finished just under 20 minutes as they would say it was a good jog. I had decided to walk from the beginning so Noah(Drew & Lisa's 4year old) and I jogged/walked the 1st mile and then I carried him the 2nd mile - so I think I got a better work out.........

Anyway my point is: Its 4 degrees outside right now and suppose to snow tonight and Michael, Austin & I are doing a 5K tomorrow for the Jingle Bell - Arthritis Foundation in Racine.

It is a great feeling to be active and spend time with the family being healthy.

Hopefully I'll remember my camera this time.

So now we are the crazy people.

Why does the last hour always take the longest?

Do you remember being in grade school or maybe even high school waiting for the school bell to ring? You could look at the clock every 30 seconds and it felt like an eternity had passed.

That is how working till 7pm on Wednesday and Thursday nights feels. I can have the busiest day ever - much like today, and undoubtably 5:30pm - 5:45pm rolls around and I hit the preverbial brick wall.

Don't misunderstand - I didn't run out of work, quite the contrary - I have enough work to fill the next 3 hours. Now when the phone stops ringing why can't I take advantage of the silence I was begging for at noon?

If anyone has suggestions for last hour motivation, I'm open to hearing them...

Football season has come to an end

The Park Panthers finished their season this past Saturday. In the wind and cold they were beat by the strong farmboys of Homestead 42-6. Typically I would say the game was closer than the score but unfortunately that isn't the case. However as a proud parent I will say Austin had a good game, he recoved the 1st kickoff of the game, had 3 announced/televised tackles and even got laid out by a tackle once himself...to bad it was a teammate that did most of the damage.

Overall thou they had an excellent season 10-2 overall. 8-1 in conference and were co champions. Here are a couple of pictures from this year:

Keeping up with the Schroeders...

I viewed Kelly's page and thought it was a cute idea and a nice way to stay up-to-date on the day to days, probably can't write everyday, but it'll be nice to stay more informed :)
